Hot Chilli Chicken Burgers
Ingredients (Serves 8):
2 diced onions
2 cloves garlic finely chopped
4 slices wholegrain bread, crusts removed
1kg chicken mince
1 tsp Beerenberg Hahndorf Hot Mustard
3 egg whites
2 tbs coriander chopped
2 tbs chives, chopped
sea salt
4 tbs Beerenberg Chilli Sauce
Method:
Saute onion and garlic until golden, allow to cool.
Process bread for fresh crumbs and add to chicken mince with onion mix, Hahndorf Hot Mustard, egg whites and herbs.
Season with salt and Chilli Sauce.
Mix well.
Form into 8 patties.
Grill for 5 to 8 minutes each side until cooked through, or pan fry in a small amount of olive oil.
Serve with toasted wholegrain rolls spread with guacamole, lettuce, onion and tomato.
NB chicken mince is very lean, burgers will dry out if overcooked when grilling.
