Takatala Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 500g pork, beef or chicken

  • 25g plain flour

  • 1 onion

  • 2 cloves of diced garlic

  • 1 beef stock dissolved in 125ml of water

  • 1 teaspoon basil or mixed herbs

  • 2 potatoes sliced

  • 1 can (415g) of tomatoes

  • 100ml Beerenberg Takatala Marinade

  • Salt to taste

  • cornflour to thicken

 

Method:

  1. Roll meat in plain flour.  Brown meat in heated oil. 

  2. Add onion and garlic.

  3. Fry gently until golden brown. 

  4. Add stock and herbs.

  5. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. 

  6. Add potatoes, tomatoes and Takatala

  7. Marinade. Simmer until tender. 

  8. Thicken with cornflour.
